Flood Theology: Why Does Noah's Flood Matter?

If the account of Noah's flood was removed from the Bible, would it matter? Plenty of other stories teach God's judgement on sin, for example. This talk will show how the flood is a crucial component in the story-line of Scripture. In the flood a theology of grace is revealed that matters for us today and which provides the most compelling arguments for why Noah's flood must be understood as global rather than local.

Geological Evidence of a Worldwide Flood.

This talk will look at several major features of the earth's rock record that are consistent with the Bible's account of a worldwide flood, including widespread, catastrophically deposited sedimentary strata, spectacular sandstone intrusions, and extensive high-elevation erosion surfaces. It will be argued that the Flood provides a better explanation for these features than the conventional geological model.
